Stampin' with Wetlands for #CI08 #stampinup

Hi Everyone

I am back again to share with you this card I made for the Colour Inkspiration challenge #CI08 using the recently discontinued stamp set ~ Wetlands. Colour Inkspiration is a Facebook group which you can join and play along to their fortnightly colour challenges.

The colours we had to play with are below:

To be honest, I didn't really know what to create at first. The colours are quite autumnal and manly, so I looked at our stamp sets and nothing. I could've played with the new Eastern Palace Suite ~ HERE but I wanted to concentrate on retiring products and get one more use out of them. I ended up using Wetlands after looking at the actual image above and here is what I came up with;

I am really pleased with how this card turned out after not knowing what to do at first. The designing did take longer and I used copy papers to try out different compositions first. I did have to be careful with how much I was working on the Very Vanilla card using the Aqua Painters and Stampin' Sponges as it started to rub off!

Cardbase tent fold 10.5cm x 29.6cm
Black mat 9.5cm x 13.8cm
Very Vanilla layer 9cm x 13.3cm
Stamp the goose image in the foreground in Basic Black Archival Stampin' Pad
Elongate the grass by masking the rubber stamp before applying the ink
Make a mask for the goose and stamp the row of birds
Sponge Delightful Dijon on the edges of the cards and create the sun rays using copy paper
Use Aqua Painters with Delightful Dijon to apply highlights where you want them
Create your own hill mask by tearing off the copy paper, using Early Espresso at the bottom and Soft Suede more on top
Add Tip Top Taupe behind the goose, I think I used Soft Suede Stampin' Marker more on the left side to make it a bit more darker
Use Early Espresso Stampin' Marker to add more shadows
Stamp the reeds in Soft Suede
Use white pigment pen

It's been a while since I've created a card like this and have really enjoyed myself. Check out the Colour Inkspiration Facebook group HERE and join in. You can also get more inspirations from the Design Team's blog hop, which you can start HERE

Thanks again for stopping by. Until next time BYEEEE

  1. I've seen many eye-catching and stunning cards over the years but never one as good as this! Your sponging, use of colour, composition, highlights and shadows are way beyond compare!
