Gelli Plate Background

Hi All

Just wanted to share a 6x6 card using the Flower Patch stamp set with the Gelli Plate to create the  background inspired by Barbara Gray.

Ink up the Gelli Plate, crumple scrap paper and dab.
Tear photocopy paper in 3 parts and place the middle across the Gelli Plate.
Place cardstock on top and press firmly to transfer the ink.
Lift off cardstock and place the 2 other torn photocopy papers to protect the background.
Stamp randomly with Flower Patch stamp set including the sentiment.

I also added glitter around the border of the card base using double sided sticky tape before adhering the topper.

Thanks for looking and happy stampin'

Banner Punch With Honeycomb Hello

Hi All

Just a quick post as I would like to share a masculine card using the sketch from Can You Case It? (CYCI#82) as a starting point. I ended up changing it slightly but I hope it's still ok to submit.

I used the off cut from the Banner Punch as a guide to cut the other end to form the arrows / shield to match the shapes on the embossing folder.

I also stamped the sentiment 2 ways so the card can either be portrait or landscape!

Thanks for looking and happy stampin'

Future Demo Dates And A Wedding Card

Hi All

Hope you're all having a good week so far. We had another demo at Hobbycraft Basingstoke yesterday and got the ladies to work on 1 sheet wonder; making their own DSP and creating 6 tags using the Scalloped Tag Topper punch and 2 tealight boxes using the Envelope Punch Board.  It was a good alternative to doing cards all the time but we did show them how to use the tags as toppers for cards, if they wanted to. It's been a great opportunity for us to generate more interest and chat to other crafters whilst in the store so we have booked 4 more dates for September and October! We will be there on the following Tuesday dates:

1st September 5pm - 7pm
22nd September 5pm - 7pm
6th October 10am - 12pm
13th October 10am - 12pm

We'll keep you updated of what we'll be doing once we've decided on projects. We hope to see you there!

Anyways, some of you may know that I made a Wedding pop up box card last week and posted a sneak peek on our Facebook page on Saturday. I had left over centura pearl card from die cutting flourishes and an extra sentiment I printed off the mac which I wanted to use up so here's what I came up with.

I used Blushing Bride for the orchid stamp from World of Dreams set. I then extended the Creative Expression frame die to fit the sentiment by placing the top cutting plate halfway, then moving the die along and running it through the Big Shot again. Adhered with foam pads to add height.

I used the Flower punch from the Itty Bitty Accents set, which is my go to punch every time I have left over cards. It's even better with white/ivory cards as you can colour it after with the Stampin' markers! I thought it looked like four leaf clovers so decided to do a horse shoe shape with them.

I am really pleased with how this card turned out using leftover pieces. I am also entering this to the following challenges:
Crafty Catz - 288 New Beginnings
Creative Fingers Challenge Blog - 89 Anything Goes
Crafting From The Heart - 73 Anything Goes

Thanks for looking, until next time, happy stampin'

Class Projects - Shaker Cards

Hi All

So we had another class on Tuesday and we would like to share with you the Shaker Cards we created. We really enjoyed teaching the ladies how to construct these and we're so happy that they enjoyed it too.

We started with a basic card using the medium Butterfly thinlet die and a stamp from Watercolour Wings.
Card Size 10.5cm x 10.5 cm
Frame 8.7cm x 8.7cm with 1cm border
We used the Stampin' Trimmer to prepare the frame which was much faster and accurate than using a knife.

The card base is embossed but it works better debossed as Andrea suggested during class - this is why it's great to craft with others and share ideas!

We then created a Christmas Shaker Card using the Sheltering Tree stamp as well as the sentiment and bow from the Wondrous Wreath stamp set.
Card Size 14.8cm x 14.8cm

The tree was embossed in silver before sponging Island Indigo and Night of Navy for the background. Embossing the tree catches the glitter flakes on the branches which we prefer.

For the last project we made this Shaker Bag using the Mini Treat Bag thinlits and the elephant from Zoo Babies set.

Some of the silver hearts confetti were raised with foam pads to catch the sequins, papers and glitters. The sentiment was coloured using Tempting Turquoise marker which made stripes on the card to match the elephant and the Go Wild DSP.

What do you think of these Shaker Cards?

If you or know of someone that might be interested in joining us at our classes in Basingstoke, please don't hesitate to contact us. Or pop in to Hobbycraft (Winchester Road, RG22 6HN), Tuesday 18th August, 3pm - 5pm for a chat and some stampin'.

Our next class is on Saturday 29th August, 10am-12pm.

Thanks for looking and happy stampin'

Weekly Deals - 4th August

Hi All

Just wanted to remind you that the Weekly Deals have been updated. Check out the products at great prices.

The Flower Patch stamp set is one that we bought when we joined to be demonstrators. It's such a fun set to play with and you can also get the matching framelits. They do come as a bundle for £38.25 so if you're thinking of getting both, buy them separately this week and save even more.

Here's my favourite project using the set:

You can use the topper of flowers for a box which you can make using the Envelope Punch Board, also in this week's Weekly Deals :) There are a lot of creative crafters out there who have used the board for projects other than making envelopes like cards, bags, crackers and more. It's such a versatile tool to have and it's even more appealing this week for only £13.50!

Click on the images below to shop online now.

Also, don't forget about the CLEARANCE SALE, with products up to 60% off!

If your order is less than £150, please use the Stampin' Reward Code:
