CAS Colours & Sketches #188

Hi All

Here is my card for my last challenge as Guest Designer at CAS Colours & Sketches.

I worked on a print from our recent Shaving Foam technique class with the Falling Flowers set.
Blackened the background with Stampin' Marker before heat embossing in gold. Layered on kraft card using the Layering Ovals.

For the sketch I added glitter with double sided tape and the sentiment is from the Wetlands set.

Shaving Foam Technique - Class Projects

 Hi All

We had great fun at our recent card making class in Basingstoke using the Shaving Foam technique to create marbled background. It's quick and easy but can be messy.

The attendees re-created the 2 cards below and took home numerous amounts of prints ready for future projects.

We also made a few samples of other projects we made using the marbled backgrounds:

Hope you like our class projects and samples. If you live near Basingstoke, join us at one of our card making classes.

CAS Colours & Sketches #187

Hi All

Sorry it's a bit late but here's my design for CAS Colours & Sketches #187

Thanks to a recent play date with fellow Royal Stampers (Sara, Hilary, Leonore and of course my partner in craft, Barry) I used the Jar of Love set for this card. It started off as a 1 layer card but I ended up cutting the different pieces as I wasn't too happy with the composition of the original.

Having only 3 colours to play with, I used 2nd Generation technique to achieve lighter shades. I also used Wink of Stella on the flowers and the distressed burlap which unfortunately isn't very clear on the photos.

My favourite part is the Chocolate Chip coloured and glittered string which mimics the stamp. It's so quick and easy to do but perhaps will need to heat set with an iron next time as it leaves a light residue on the Whisper White card.

CAS Colours and Sketches #186

UPDATE: So pleased this card got a special mention at Global Design Project

#GDPspecialmention, #GDP048

Hi All

It's my 2nd week at CAS Colours & Sketches and here is my card for challenge #186

I have taken the sketch from CC&S#186 and theme from Tanja Kolar's card at Global Design Project #GDP048 for inspirations on this card.

I used Number of Years stamp set with the matching Large Numbers dies as the focal point which is covered in glitter by using Heat & Stick embossing powder.

The 2" and 1" banners were so easy to achieve with the Triple Banner Punch, which I then pierced to do a bit of hand sewing with Gold Metallic Thread. The balloon and sentiments are from the Birthday Banners stamp set.

Check out the Design Team's cards and play along.

Thanks for stopping by and happy stampin'

CAS Colours & Sketches #185

Hi All

I am super excited to announce that I have been invited to be the Guest Designer for August at CAS Colours & Sketches. It is a weekly challenge blog which starts on Thursday and winners are announced on Monday. It's a great source for inspirations so check out the challenges and join in.

Here is my design for challenge #185

I used White Stampin' Powder to heat embossed a flower from the Falling Flowers set - having the raised outlines made watercolouring with the Aqua Painters and Stampin' Markers so much easier.

Once I was happy with the flower, I used copy paper to mask it and stamped Gorgeous Grunge twice in Dapper Denim. The flourish from Falling Flowers was achieved by using the marker to stamp and 2nd generation stamping techniques.

The flower and splatters were then coated with Clear Wink of Stella Glitter. The sentiment from Thankful Thoughts and was also heat embossed.
