Happy Birthday Mum

Hi

Thanks for stopping by our blog, todays is a special card I made for my Mum for her birthday a few days ago.

Its a magic slider card and was my first time of making one. It's such a fun card to make and is definitely a fun card to receive especially if the person getting it has never seen a slider card before.

To make this card I have used several techniques and products as well as the new layering Squares Framelits Dies which are perfect for this style of card to create a perfect window opening. Other tools used was the Stamp-a-ma-jig, it's an essential tool needed to create the overlap. The sentiment is from the new Birthday Banners Stamp set and die cut from the Large Numbers Framelits Dies. I finished the card off with some Pearl Basic Jewels and string.  I have chosen to use the Mint Macaroon and Cucumber Crush colours from the Stampin' Up range, but Stampin' Up! have a wide selection of Colours to choose from if greens are not your thing.

YouTube has plenty of detailed videos if you want to get ideas of how its all put together. Just search Magic Slider Cards.

Please leave us a comment below if you like this card or if you have any question. All the products used to create this can be purchased from our 24/7 Online Shop

Thanks again for looking and we hope we have Inspired you to Create and Share something new.

Embossing with Botanical Builder Framelits

Hi All

Today I am sharing a card inspired by the colour challenge from CAS Colours & Sketches #178 using Pool Party, Calypso Coral & Pear Pizzazz.

It looks quite simple but I have used a few techniques to create this card.

I used the Layering Square Framelits and Botanical Builder Framelits to emboss the white card. I made my own shim using thick card to only emboss parts of the leaves but I ended up covering the area with the Calypso Coral flower so I didn't need to be fussy about it - at least I have a shim for next time :)

I then used scrap paper to mask around the square, sponging Pear Pizzazz on the bottom left and Pool Party on the top right. I used the embossed lines to add sparkles around the square frame, leaves and flower. I also edged the topper with sparkles.

I had small off cuts of Calypso Coral and Pear Pizzazz card stock which I added on the right side. I wanted more interest around the card so I added some iridescent sequins which my mum reminded me how much we have in our stash as she talked about adding sequins to her dress.

After looking at my card, I realised I haven't done any stampin'?! I ended up using the row of lines stamp from the Botanical Blooms set which matches the framelits. I didn't want to overpower the whole card so I used 2nd generation stamping to lighten the ink.

Thank you for stopping by and please comment below what you think of the card.

Stampin' for Father's Day

Hi All

How are you today? I hope you're having some crafty fun and playing with all your new goodies. We all get stuck for ideas so please feel free to CASE what you see. Stampin' Up! products which were used to make these cards, can be purchased from our ONLINE SHOP

Well today, I wanted to share with you the Father's Day cards myself and Jay made for our wonderful & amazing Dads.

This card was the one I made for my Dad.  It was made by embossing the Kraft Card with the Woodgrain Texture Embossing Folder & adding some gold gilding wax to highlight the texture. I then stamped the Hardwood stamp on a small off cut of Whisper White card stock before die cutting the word 'Happy' from the Hello You Thinlits Dies. The sentiment is from the Crazy about You & the banner is from the Number of Years stamp set which I stamped out & die cut with the matching Large Numbers Framelits Dies. I have wrapped silver string around the card and entwined with the die cut 'Happy'. The banner is attached with Stampin Dimensionals and the whole card is mounted on Whisper White & Night of Navy card stock.
My Dad was really pleased with his card & I hope you all like it too.

Jay made this card for his Dad using the Retiform Technique - a technique one of our ladies from our twice monthly card class has asked if we can play with in a future class. To help with the blending around the edges, Jay used the Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker to draw the outlines and overlapped sponging can be hidden. He used the Lovely as a Tree stamp set to create this amazing card with the sentiment from the Crazy About You stamp set. The die cut leaves are from the Botanical Builder Framelits Dies which also has a beautiful matching Botanical Blooms stamp set.

I hope these have inspired you to try some or all of the techniques used. If you have any questions about Stampin' Up! products or our card making class in Basingstoke, please drop us a message and we will do our best to help you or just leave us a comment bellow.

Thanks again for looking & have a fun crafty day.

Stampin' with Awesomely Artistic

Hi All

Today I am sharing a tag on a card using the Awesomely Artistic stamp set. I have combined a couple of challenges for inspiration as we have so many crafty products that sometimes it can be too overwhelming so it's great to look at challenges to get started.

Firstly, I used the sketch from CAS Colours & Sketches #177. I also looked at Global Design Project GDP#040 - Case The Designer, for the floral inspiration. The final element came from Can You Case It? CYCI#124, use watercolour and add a sentiment.

I liked how the 2016-2018 In Colours worked together with previous projects so I used them here again, applied with the Aqua Painters before adding the sentiment from the Thankful Thoughts stamp set.

Barry has recently been playing with texture paste and I used the scraps with the Pansy Punch. Some of the crackles came off the edges but I quite like the effect it has given the flower after colouring it with Emerald Envy.

Hope you like the card and thanks for stopping by. Check out the challenge blogs that I am entering this card to and join in the fun.

Stampin' Stars and Twinklets Blog Hop - Stampin' Up! 2016 Catalogue

Hi All

Glad you made it to our blog today as we are excited to showcase a new stamp set from the new Stampin' Up! catalogue which only launched on Wednesday. Have you got a copy yet?

It's our first time in a blog hop so thank you for stopping by. If you came straight to us, check out the full list of all participants at the bottom of the post.

Before you do though, here are our makes using,

2016-2018 In Colour Classic Stampin' Pads

We have been inspired with the masking technique we used on the Make & Takes at the VIP day we were lucky enough to attend at Stampin' Up! HQ in aid of the Coram Charity. We have used this technique on these A7 Very Vanilla notecards.

Stamp on a sticky note then cut, to use as your mask before stamping the leaves to create depth. Keep the handmade mask in the stamp case to be used next time.

Use the Blender Pen to colour the main flower and add the shadow around the flower. For the background alternate between 1st Generation and 2nd Generation stamping technique to add even more dimension.

For this card, we've added some interest to the leaves with the new Copper Embossing Powder and highlighting areas with a white pigment pen.

The Floral Affection Embossing Folder matches the designs on the stamp set. For this card we have used the debossed side and sentiment from the stamp set. The colours have been applied using the  Stampin Sponges and using a straight edge as a mask to add a 'sun flare' effect.

Here are some other projects we have created using the set:

Create borders for your scrapbooking pages by using the same techniques from the notecards

Stamp randomly to decorate kraft paper before turning into a Mini Treat Bag

Used in corners to add depth on this seascape

Hope you like our projects and feel inspired to create something this weekend. We would love to see your creations so share them on Facebook or Twitter. Also, if you live around Basingstoke, come and join us at one of our card making class.
