Update: Thanks for voting. This card came 3rd and I will be hopping with Kylie and the rest of the Top 10 in June 7th. Thanks again :)
Hi Everyone
Thank you for stopping by today. Demonstrators are being highlighted internationally by Kylie Bertucci and you can VOTE for your top 5 favourites including my project. Mine is PHOTO #33 at Kylie's blog ~ HERE
The theme for May is 'Masculine' and I have chosen to use the retiring Irresistibly Floral Designer Series Specialty Paper (wow, that's a tongue twister isn't it?!) which is now 20% off, only whilst stock last. I also used the new Eastern Beauty stamps and Eastern Medallions Dies amongst other Stampin' Up! products.
Here is the front cover of my card:
Here is the front cover of my card:
I applied Lemon Lime Twist, Tranquil Tide, Dapper Denim, Bermuda Bay and Emerald Envy inks using the Aqua Painters. To create dimension, I did a quick wash of the lighter shades first. I then applied the darker inks with less water by wiping the Aqua Painters on tissue before picking up the colours and I also kept closer to the embossed lines.
The sentiment is actually on a belly band that helps to keep the card closed because this project is a Twist Pop Up Panel!
The card opens up to this:
I continued the design for the inside of the card and the belly band can be placed at the bottom for display. I didn't want to lose much of the background so I added another layer at the back for any added sentiment needed and to add more weight to keep it grounded.
For the black card panels I heat embossed each corner with the Copper Stampin' Emboss Powder. I then used the Large Letters Framelits Dies to cut out the letters in black and replaced with the stripy letters; this keeps the panels thin and folds down easily.

If you have a lot of off cuts like us try the stripe look; adhere different coloured strips on copy paper and die cut your Large Letters Framelits Dies. This also works great on the Large Numbers Framelits Dies!
If you're unfamiliar with this fancy fold and haven't seen it before, watch it twist as I pop it like it's hot! LOL
