Color Me Happy & Stampin' Blends for Colour INKspiration #CI19

Hi Everyone

Thanks for stopping by, it's Jay here and I am sharing one of my first projects using the new alcohol markers Stampin' Blends with an exclusive stamp set which will be available from November 1st

I have taken inspiration from Colour INKspiration #CI19 and I am entering this card for the challenge. I really like the contrast of the yellow against the grey building and the strong sharp lines which makes the entrance inviting

Luckily, the Stampin' Blends comes in Daffodil Delight and Smoky Slate which I coloured the flower stamp from Color Me Happy on Whisper White cardstock

These markers are easy to use and blends beautifully. I only used the light & dark Daffodil Delight colours on the flowers at first but I wanted to have a stronger contrast. I ended up introducing Smoky Slate to add more shadow within the flowers and I'm glad it worked out

I also wanted to keep the focus on the flowers so have kept the card design quite simple. I used Layered Leaves Dynamic TIEF on Garden Green cardstock, then stacked Gold Natural Trim ribbon on Smoky Slate and Basic Gray cardstock

You can join in the colour challenge every fortnight back at Colour INKspiration's facebook page HERE

Guest Designer for Colour INKspiration #CI16

Hi Everyone

Thank you for stopping by today, it's Jay here and I'm thrilled to take part on this hop to welcome you to the 16th Colour INKspiration Challenge #CI16

You may have arrived from Denita Wright-Smee or started here but be sure to check out each member of the Design Team's projects then create your own using the colours below

I am so happy to have been chosen and invited as a Guest Designer. Thank you Colour INKspiration Team and everyone that voted

For my project, I wanted to use an upcoming Stampin' Up! product from the Autumn/Winter Catalogue. I ended up using Hearts Come Home CLEAR Mount Stamp Set with the co-ordinating Hometown Greetings Edgelits Dies on page 39 (which will be available as the Hearts Come Home CLEAR Mount Bundle on 1st September). The colours worked well for a night scene and I created this U Fold Shadow Frame Card (also known as Centre Box or Bridge Fold)

I applied Dapper Denim with the Sponge Brayers on Whisper White cardstock before die cutting the stars a few times

Stamped the silhouette of Santa and the reindeers on Whisper White card stock then die cut in circle, followed by Sahara Sand sponging and stamping to add texture to the moon before cutting a straight edge on the right hand side

I used Basic Gray and Sahara Sand Stampin' Markers to colour the details on the houses

I also used the same coloured card stock for the backing on the houses

TIP: die emboss your card stock then fussy cut instead of paper piecing all the details

I added Gold Glimmer Paper to accent the circular window of the church

I made the frame from Wood Textures DSP and the best part is that this 6" x 6" U Fold Shadow Frame Card folds flat for posting!!!

You will find a Video Tutorial of another U Fold Shadow Frame ~ HERE
