Caught In Crystal Class Projects

Hi All

Thanks for stopping by

Today we wanted to share the cards we made in class today and hopefully inspire you to try something like this yourself.

The technique we've done today was the Caught in Crystal technique. This technique has been something we've seen 2 of our favourite 'celebrity' crafters do and we have been wanting to teach in class for a while now. So I'm calling it Stampin' Up! meets Sue Wilson & Sheena Douglas as these two amazing crafters have inspired us to try it.

Firstly we started with an A5 piece of accertate and coated it with floor polish (Sheena Style) then added drops of Stampin' Up! re inkers and mix it around to blend. Be careful not to over work the colours as you don't want to end up with a muddy mix. Once you are happy with the mix of colours, sprinkle it with some mica powder or glitter. Both if your feeling brave like Andrea did in our class.

Now get some white tissue paper or plain kitchen roll and screw it up. Open it up and place it over the floor polish mix making sure it's all covered and no dry bits of paper are visible.

Now it's a waiting game, this needs plenty of time to dry and we would recommend at least 24hours. As this is a technique which requires drying time, it might be worth doing several sheets in one go, so you have some on hand for when you need it.

When its dry, trim the excess paper from the edges and do with it as you please.

You can see from the pictures below what we designed for our ladies to create in class today using their Caught in Crystal masterpieces.

Use the Butterfly thinlit for the corners before adding glitter on double-sided adhesive sheet.

Use the off-cut from the previous card for the topper and decorate with flowers.

Corner punch, pearls and a sentiment with a bit of sponging and 2 scored lines.

We hope we have inspired you to give this technique a try and if you have any questions please drop us a message or leave a comment bellow.

Make Your Own Bendi Card With Our Tutorial

Hi All

We made this Bendi Card at our card making class. It's easy to do once you know the measurements so I thought I would share with you today how I made the templates which we gave to our class attendees.
The final piece folds flat into A6 which will fit in a C6 envelope. You can also make 2 Bendi Cards from 1 A4 card.

Cut an A4 card at 10.5cm lengthways.

Score at 1cm and 15.8cm, then cut at 16.8cm.

The panels are made from the left over piece. Score at 1cm. Turn and cut at 6cm lengthways.

Use the scored lines to cut tabs for your panels.

Align Left Panel along the scored line on the Main Card and mark the top corner to determine where the Main Card tab should be. Do the same for the Right Panel. Cut excess off.

Put Left Panel on top of Main Card, align along the bottom at 10cm and mark the tabs.

Cut in between the marked areas as this is where your Left Panel tab will go into.

Put the Right Panel on top of the Left Panel, align along the bottom at 6cm and mark the tabs.

Cut in between the marked areas for the Right Panel tab to go into.

Adhere all pieces together and you have a Bendi Card!

Hope this will help you in creating your own Bendi Cards. Why not share your creations on our facebook page
Or tweet us

Have fun and happy craftin'

Teepee Card

Hi All

Just want to share one of our class project which is a Teepee card!

It's easy to construct and with our measurements it will fold flat and fit in a c6 envelope.

Cut 3 cards measuring 9.5cm x 9.5cm
Score diagonally and use a bone folder
Adhere the 3 pieces together along the diagonal folds - see photo for *placements
Cut 3 mats measuring 8.5cm x 8.5cm
Cut 3 DSP measuring 7.5cm x 7.5cm
Cut all mats and DSP diagonally and adhere to the card base.
Use velcro or glue dots
Decorate as you wish.

And you have a teepee card.

Hope you love this card as much as we do.

Happy craftin'

Onstage 2016 Swaps

Hi All

Thanks for stopping by. Today we wanted to share the swaps we made for the Stampin' Up! Onstage 2016 event we attended last weekend.

It's a great event where we get to meet other Stampin' Up! Demos, socialise and generally have a fun day. Plus we got our advance copy of the new Annual Catalogue, see previews of products inspirations, win prizes and watch demonstrations. All we can say at the moment is WOW, your in for a treat. You too can attend this fun event in November by joining our team as a demonstrator.

Anyway, got a bit side tracked then, just really enjoyed Onstage Local and back to our swaps.

For our swap we used the lovely

We also did a version of this card at our Monthly Card Class, demonstrating some new techniques some of our ladies have never tried before. So if you would like to learn something new or just meet new friends who enjoy crafting, why not join us for our fun Stampin' Card Class.

Mother's Day Card & Gift

Hi

Thanks for stopping by our blog. Today I would like to share the Card & Gift I made for Mothers day.

It's a little bit different to my normal style but I have recently found some new products and just had to play. I also wanted to incorporate Stampin' Up! products to show the versatility they have on any project you might be doing.

Firstly I wanted to play with crackle glaze, I know this is not a new product to many of you but it's the first time I've really played with it and been happy with the results. I've also found a new love for Gilding Wax. I've wasted money in the past buying cheaper products and not been happy with the results. So if you can pay a little bit more to get a quality product I'm sure you will be happy with the results.

Below is the card I made using crackle glaze and filling the cracks with gilding wax. I've also used the Flower Shop, Petite Petals and Itty Bitty stamps and punches from Stampin' Up! The flowers have all been coloured with Blackberry Bliss ink and the Aqua Painters to pull the ink out and give it some shading. To finish them off I've used the Clear Wink of Stella pens to give it the sparkle and Pearl Basic Jewels. The edges have been distressed to finish off the look.
I was really happy with the final result.

A handmade card wasn't the end of it. Whilst at the Make it Craft show in Farnborough last week, we had a play with Powertex and I needed to play with our goodies. So I decided to decorate a glass jar with this amazing stuff and once again used Stampin' Up products. I won't go into details about Powetex as it will take me to long to write. But if interested click the link Powertex to unleash a whole new world of crafting.

The Stampin' Up! products used to compliment this gift are the Itty Bitty Punch and Flower Fair Framlits Dies. I have only used the petals from these dies but it's got loads of other uses. It also comes in the Flower Patch Bundle. The sentiment has come from the Crazy About You stamp set which is another great versatile stamp set to have in your stash.

.

I had so much fun making these projects and I hope you've enjoyed looking at them. If you would like to purchase any of the Stampin' Up! products used please click on the highlighted products and it will take you directly to our Online Shop.

Please feel free to leave a comment below.

Thank you again for stopping by and for reading our blog. We hope we have inspired you to make something amazing and unique.

Thanks again

Barry
