Hi and welcome to Mitosu Crafts in the UK. It's Jay Soriano here and you are in for a treat with our new blog hop, For The Love Of Creating organised by the talented Kim Oliver
Demonstrators around the world will be sharing project ideas using Stampin' Up! products every 3 months in the hope to inspire you with your crafting. If your following the hop already, you may have arrived here from Kayla MacAulay and you will find the full list of designers at the bottom of the post to continue on
For my first project I created a Diorama card using the dragon and knight from the Magical Day stamp set coloured with Stampin' Blends
The first draft of this project was actually a hanging spinner card, but I changed it last minute! I added the grass inside the card and embellished it with the Gold Glitter Flakes
Like my Magical Diorama Wizard card, this one folds flat for posting. When opened the dragon moves forward and seems to be suspended in the air thanks to a mechanism behind it. You can find a video tutorial of how to create this type of card HERE
For my second project, I wanted a 3D item and decided on an awesome Fold Flat Gift Box with the Epic Celebrations stamp set. I coloured the trainers with Stampin' Blends as well as the Iridescent Washi from the Myths & Magic Specialty Washi Tape set to decorate the front
I've been wanting to create a fold flat gift box for a while after seeing a huge box at work. This one is much smaller though and can be made using a 6" x 6" DSP. It can hold a nice chocolate treat; the one we had in the flat was a Dairy Milk Bunny and Maltesers MaltEaster Bunny, both fits inside individually
Dimensions: 4" x 1 3/4" x 3/4"
Score at 1/4", 1", 5" & 5 3/4" then turn 90˚
Score at 1", 1 3/4", 3 1/2" & 4 1/4"
These fold flat boxes are quick to do in bulk and can be put away easily until needed. It will be great for table gifts and craft fairs too
I hope you enjoy these projects today. For more card ideas and papercraft inspirations, hop all the way around the Design Team's blog and don't forget to come back and order your craft supplies from Mitosu Crafts' Online Shop if you live in the UK
