Hi and welcome to Mitosu Crafts UK, thanks for stopping by today. It's Jay here with the Stamp Review Crew blog hop. The Stamp Review Crew are a group of independent demonstrators sharing inspirations using the same stamp set by Stampin' Up! For this hop we are showcasing the beautiful Butterfly Gala photopolymer stamp set
Make the most of your stamps with Stamp Review Crew and continue along the hop by clicking the 'Next Blog' button at the end of this post. If you are following the hop already, you have arrived here from With A Bow On Top by the talented Lou Kitzelman
The Butterfly Gala Stamp Set comes with 18 stamps and uses 2 Step Stamping technique to create the final image you want. It also co-ordinates with the Butterfly Duet Punch from the 2019 Spring/Summer Occasions Catalogue so both can be ordered together as a BUNDLE
Now onto my projects which uses the bundle with other products...
Now onto my projects which uses the bundle with other products...
The card base is actually embossed with the Subtle DTIEF, it's so subtle you can't see it in the photos! Honestly though, it is gorgeous in person. I stamped the leafy butterflies on another strip of card with Memento ink then adhered on the bottom of the cardbase. Adding a thin strip of Old Olive card to hide the edge
The sentiment was stamped on Very Vanilla cardstock, punched using the Pretty Label design then adhered with Dimensionals
The trio of butterflies were stamped in Memento ink, coloured with Daffodil Delight Combo Blends and Dark Pumpkin Pie Blends. These were then cut using Butterfly Duet punch then shaped with Paper Snips. I only added glue to the back of the body so the wings can be folded upwards
For my 2nd card I wanted to get a bit more inky. I didn't realise how much I've missed sponging until after doing a facebook live a couple of weeks ago
I used a dauber to apply Soft Sea Foam on the new Crackle Background and stamped on Whisper White cardstock. This Dauber to Stamp technique creates a lighter shade and you can select which areas you want to use
I sponged Gorgeous Grape and Granny Apple Green, sprinkled water then dried with paper towels and repeated the process. The first splatter attracted more ink as it was still slightly wet and added darker splatter effects
I added a strip of Grapefruit Grove Foil (FREE Sale-A-Bration item) embossed in Subtle DTIEF, Whisper White 5/8" Flax Ribbon and the sentiment on Dimensionals
I used the Dauber to Stamp technique again to apply Gorgeous Grape ink on the solid top butterfly stamp. I tend to punch the butterflies first before stamping the body so you can gauge where to stamp it. Finished off this card by adding the Basic Adhesive-Backed Sequins
For my final card, I created a rainbow with the smaller punched butterflies. I used Poppy Parade, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Call Me Clover, Pacific Point, Gorgeous Grape and Melon Mambo
This card is actually a bit more technical as I wanted the rainbow butterflies spaced evenly. I embossed the layer in Subtle DTIEF before marking with pencil where I was going to place the butterflies in different colour cardstock
Cardbase 10.5cm x 29cm folded at 14.5cm
Smoky Slate mat 9.8cm x 13.8cm
Whisper White layer 9.5cm x 13.5cm
Mark from bottom of layer at 0.5cm then every 1.9cm for the next butterfly
Sentiment mat 6.1cm x 1cm; layer 5.9cm x 0.8cm
For US cardbase 4 1/4" x 11" folded at 5 1/2"
Smoky Slate mat 4" x 5 1/4"
Whisper White layer 3 7/8" x 5 1/8"
Mark from bottom of layer at 1/4" then every 11/16" for the next butterfly
Sentiment mat 2 3/8" x 7/16"; layer 2 5/16" x 5/16"
I used Smoky Slate ink to stamp the small butterfly wings, punch, stamp the body in the same colour, shape and then adhere on top of the coloured cardstock. I stamped the sentiment first then cut by hand, you can either score the card first or use pencil for guidance
So what Stampin' Up! colours would you use to make a rainbow? And which one of the 3 projects do you prefer?
