OSAT Blog Hop ~ Lay It Out with Swirly Frames

Hi and welcome to Mitosu Crafts UK, thanks for stopping by. It's Jay Soriano here with my projects for the OSAT Design Team blog hop with the theme of 'Lay It Out'. We are sharing scrapbook layouts and co-ordinating project ideas with you all today, so be sure to check out all the design team's blogs for inspirations

I don't do much scrapbooking myself, so this was a challenge for me. My first cruise to Norway with Barry was full of beautiful sceneries which I took inspiration from to create a simple layout using Swirly Frames with Waterfront stamp set. The photo I decided to use is of lake Oldevatnet at Yri Neset. We were only there for a brief 10min to take in the gorgeous surrounding after our hike up to Briksdal Glacier but it was definitely memorable

I made a couple of masks with the rectangular frame before stamping the frames on the card. I then sponged Balmy Blue and Soft Sea Foam whilst the masks were still on as well as stamp the Waterfront designs in Granny Apple Green, Shaded Spruce and Gray Granite

I darken the bottom of the frames with Smoky Slate Marker and added quick washes of Balmy Blue and Soft Sea Foam with the Aqua Painters to add more depth

The splatter you see is actually tea...added by our cat Tommy! I was clearing up my mess when I thought I was finished but he just had to add his mark somehow

I created a card for my second project, again using Swirly Frames but this time with Rooted In Nature stamp set. It's based on a previous project I have shared for the Paper Craft Crew challenge HERE

I used the Marker to Stamp technique for the tree in Soft Suede, Granny Apple Green and Garden Green. The co-ordinating Nature's Root die was used to create a mask before stamping the frame

I also masked the inside frame and sponged Coastal Cabana and Granny Apple Green before adding the Baker's Twine and sentiment to finish

Stamp Review Crew ~ Beautiful Bouquet

Hi and welcome to Mitosu Crafts UK, thanks for stopping by. It's Jay here, currently on a cruise with Barry heading to Norway but I wanted to join in with the Stamp Review Crew to showcase the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set

I managed to create 2 cards with the Beautiful Bouquet to share with you today. The first card uses the co-ordinating Bouquet Bunch Framelits Dies with the new colours added to Stampin' Up!'s color collections

I die cut the stems and used it as a guide for stamping the small flowers (Soft Sea Foam & Mango Melody) and leaves (Granny Apple Green & Shaded Spruce) on the card base. I die cut the flower clusters in Whisper White and coloured in Flirty Flamingo and Highland Heather with Aqua Painters

The larger flowers were stamped in Grapefruit Grove and Lovely Lipstick then die cut before arranging on top. Vellum, Sahara Sand and Very Vanilla card stock were also used with Linen Thread to finish the card

For the 2nd card, I wanted to incorporate one of the new stamp sets from the Annual Catalogue and settled with the Swirly Frames which we received at OnStage back in April

I created a circle mask using the Layering Circles Framelits and sponged Soft Sea Foam on Whisper White card, stamped the flowers and leaves before taking off the sticky note. Other colours used on the cardbase were Lemon Lime Twist and Coastal Cabana

Once the mask was off, I stamped the circle frame in Crumb Cake ink and the straight with dotted lines from the Swirly Frames set in Mint Macaron ink. I die cut the flower clusters again then coloured in Mint Macaron and Gorgeous Grape



To keep most of the topper white, I decided to insert the die cuts in between the Whisper White layer and the Mint Macaron mat. Finished off with the sentiment in Gorgeous Grape, die cut using the Stitched Shapes Framelits
