Stamp Review Crew ~ Beauty Abounds

It's Jay here and I am back with the Stamp Review Crew, sharing projects using the wonderful Beauty Abounds stamp set

It's been such a fun week as Barry and I attended the Stampin' Up! local event at Telford #onstage2019 It went quick but it was pack full of excitement. I am happy to say that the Beauty Abounds stamp set will be carrying over with the co-ordinating Butterfly Beauty Dies although the Bundle and Save offer will not. So it's best to get both now and save 10%, you can have more for the upcoming new Stampin' Up! products :)

I created 3 cards during the week as I knew that the weekend would be busy. I managed to photographed them all and planned on blogging before we went to Telford. That didn't happen as I instead concentrated on our swaps. So here are the 3 card projects I designed for this hop...

Card Details:

Cardbase: 21cm x 14cm, folded in half at 10.5cm OR 8 1/4" x 5 1/2", folded in half at 4 1/8"

Card Layer: 9.5cm x 13cm OR 3 3/4" x 5 1/8"

Inks: Granny Apple Green, Pacific Point and Coastal Cabana

I stamped the splatter and bokeh circle designs on the card layer first before embossing with the Subtle DTIEF

I added 2 of the Lemon Lime Twist die cut flourishes (cutting 1 shorter to add later on the top left of the butterfly) before adding the strip of sentiment with dimensionals

The Very Vanilla circle was punched with the 2" design and then laid the black butterfly die cut on top

Finished off with Clear Wink of Stella and the Mini Gold Sequin Trim

Card Details

Cardbase: 10.5cm x 28cm, folded in half at 14cm OR 11" x 4 1/8", folded in half at 5 1/2"

Card Mat: 10cm x 13.5cm OR 3 15/16" x 5 5/16"

Card Layer: 9.5cm x 13cm OR 3 3/4" x 5 1/8"

Inks: Pacific Point and Early Espresso

Blends: Granny Apple Green Combo, Basic Black Combo and Color Lifter

The mat and layer were corner punched with the Detailed Trio Punch

I stamped the flourish design top and bottom in Pacific Point ink and spread the colours on the flowers with Clear Wink of Stella

I used the Stampin' Blends to add depth and interest on the card, the Color Lifter is a must for great blending!

I added the Linen Thread before adhering the layer and mat on the cardbase then finished off with the butterfly die cuts coloured in Pacific Point and Wink of Stella

For my final card, I CASEd a fellow Stamp Review Crew, the talented Lou Kitzelman and created her Adapted Easel card! You can find more info on Lou's amazing easel cards HERE. I slightly changed the card measurements to fit the beautiful Butterfly Beauty die cut

Card Details

Cardbase: 10.2cm x 28cm, scored at 3.2cm and folded in half at 14cm OR 4" x 11", scored at 1 1/4" and folded in half at 5 1/2"

Card Mats: 9.5cm x 10.2cm and 9.5cm x 2.5cm (twice) OR 3 3/4" x 4" and 3 3/4" x 1" (twice)

Inks: Flirty Flamingo, Granny Apple Green, Pacific Point and Coastal Cabana

I die cut the 2 butterfly designs in Basic Black to strengthen the topper

I also die cut the top butterfly layer in Whisper White then coloured using a dauber before adhering

The Very Vanilla large mat was embossed with the Softly Falling design before adhering in the cardbase

1 strip of the Very Vanilla was stuck on the bottom as is then glued the butterflies on top

The other strip was then stamped with the sentiment, bokeh and flourish before adhering with dimensionals inside the card to create the stopper

Stamp Review Crew ~ Amazing Life

This week we are playing with the Amazing Life Stamp Set from the 2019 Spring / Summer Occasions Catalogue

I am sharing 4 card projects with you today from #simplestamping to a fun fold Pop Up...

This Good Luck card idea is my #simplestamping sample using cards, inks, papers and a ribbon

I stamped the clover in Granny Apple Green on Lemon Lime Twist card mat randomly. This card was then adhered on to a cardbase measuring 21cm x 14.5cm, folded at 10.5cm

I stamped the sentiment in Tuxedo Black Memento on Whisper White cardstock 7.5cm x 11.5cm. Before adhering on the card mat, I tied a knot on the Granny Apple Green Textured Weave Ribbon. Folding both ends under the card which were then held in place using Tear & Tape. I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue to stick the stamped layer and it's finish. Quick and easy

The next couple of cards I used the Hinge Step Technique on the Stamparatus to achieve my Rainbow coloured lines with the border stamp from the Amazing Life set

The colours I used are Poppy Parade, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, Pacific Point, Highland Heather and Melon Mambo

The gap created from the Hinge Step Technique is wide enough to fit another stamped line. Therefore to get the sequence right, I stamped the 1st, 3rd, 5th & 7th colours first. Making sure that the stamp is clean before applying the next colour with the Simply Shammy

Move the Whisper White card so the stamp is in-between the stamped images then use 2nd, 4th & 6th colours

Smoky Slate card 3.8cm x 4.9cm, gut by die cutting with Rectangle Stitched Framelit

Very Vanilla card, die cut with the same as above then stamped with the funky design top and bottom

The sentiment was gold embossed then die cut with a Rectangle Stitched. This was shortened with the same die to create a nice stitching all around. Finished off by using dimensionals for the sentiment

Cardbase 14.5cm x 21cm, folded at 10.5cm

Whisper White mat with stamped rainbow lines 13.5cm x 9.5cm

I started by laying the border stamp on a slight diagonal on the Stamparatus base. This way I know that when the moving plate picks it up, it will remain straight

The same process was followed as the previous 'I Believe' Rainbow card. After all 7 colours were stamped in the middle, I continued to follow the rainbow colour sequence off the cardstock

I tucked the Black Satin Ribbon on the left side with the help of Tear & Tape and cut the other end diagonally with Paper Snips. Adhered on the cardbase then added the strip of Smoky Slate 7.5cm x 1cm strip. Again the sentiment was gold embossed, die cut with the Rectangle Stitched and stuck on with dimensionals

My final card is actually the card I gave to my Mum for her 65th Birthday last Friday. Previously, I have given her a Double Z Fold Card and a Jumping Pop Up Card, so I wanted to create another fun fold card this year

The decoration is fairly simple with the masking and sponging of Lovely Lipstick on the top of the card. I also used Lovely Lipstick ink to stamp the flowers randomly and the border stamp underneath. The sentiment was stamped in Tuxedo Black and die cut with the Rectangle Stitched Framelit

I tied the All My Love Ribbons in the Gold Library Clips to keep the card closed as it is a Pop Up Twist Panel Card!

To keep the focus on the panels, I kept the inside bare...not that I was running out of time on Thursday night / early Friday lol. I also forgot to film a video of the card in action

This is a prototype of another version of the Pop Up Twist Panel Card which was one of our first youtube videos. The added frame around the panels is intricate and slightly fiddly so I'm not sure whether to make a video tutorial on this one. Although, my 3 year old niece really enjoyed the card and wanted one for herself, so maybe in the future
