Stampin' with Butterfly Gala for Paper Craft Crew Challenges #PCC333

Hello, it's Jay here and I am stampin' with Butterfly Gala for the Paper Craft Crew challenge #PCC333

Welcome to Mitosu Crafts and thanks for stopping by. I am sharing my card idea for our 2 WEEK card sketch challenge. For this project I was playing around with the idea of using a negative die cut space for the main card topper. And this is what I came up with...

Card Measurements

Cardbase: 21cm x 14cm, folded in half at 10.5cm

Coastal Cabana Mat: 10cm x 13.5cm

Whisper White Layer: 9.5cm x 13cm

Very Vanilla Strip: 8cm x 1.8cm

Grapefruit Grove Strip: 8cm x 0.8cm

OR

Cardbase: 8 1/4" x 5 1/2", folded in half at 4 1/8"

Coastal Cabana Mat: 3 15/16" x 5 5/16"

Whisper White Layer: 3 3/4" x 5 1/8"

Very Vanilla Strip: 3 3/16 x 11/16"

Grapefruit Grove Strip: 3 3/16" x 5/16"

I started with the Coastal Cabana mat which I embossed with the Country Floral DTIEF, sticking on the cardbase with Multipurpose Liquid glue after.

Then I adhered the strips of Very Vanilla and Grapefruit Grove cardstock on the Whisper White layer. I ran this layer through the Big Shot using one of the square Stitched Shapes Framelits to create the frame. This allows us to see more of the beautiful Country Floral design which I then highlighted the dots with the Chalk Marker

The butterflies were stamped in Memento Black and coloured with Stampin' Blends. The colours I used were Mango Melody Combo and Light Pumpkin Pie. Punched with the co-ordinating Butterfly Duet punch so I can follow the card sketch

To finish my card, I used Basic Pearls and Gingham Gala Adhesive Backed Sequin

I left this card without a sentiment as I feel that it can be used for any occasion and can easily be altered with what we need. So it is currently being displayed at our cardmaking class and demonstrations in Basingstoke

Stampin' with Rooted In Nature for Paper Craft Crew #PCC331

The Paper Craft Crew are back with a fun Tic Tac Toe challenge this week #PCC331. It's Jay here and welcome to Mitosu Crafts, thanks so much for stopping by. Below you will find the different Tic Tac Toe elements you can play with and my card idea using Rooted In Nature and Nature's Root Bundle

I opted for the middle line across (Metallic / Monochromatic / Stitched Rectangle) as I wanted to use the other Oxidised Metal panel I created from a previous project which you can see HERE

The Oxidised Metal panel using the FREE Sale-A-Bration item, Grapefruit Grove Foil was die cut with the Rectangle Stitched Dies. I then decided on my colour combination around the Grapefruit Grove Foil to achieve a monochromatic look for this card. I ended up using the following colours: Cajun Craze, Calypso Coral, Grapefruit Grove and Early Espresso

I stamped the double trees, tone on tone, on Calypso Coral cardstock and die cut with the coordinating dies from Nature's Root

The sentiment from the same stamp set was stamped in Early Espresso and then die cut with the thinnest Rectangle Stitched die

The Grapefruit Grove twine comes from the Nature's Twine pack (which contains 3 other spools of twine in Blackberry Bliss, Crumb Cake and Mint Macaron). I separated a couple of strands, wound around my fingers then adhered with Tear & Tape

For the main tree image, I used the dauber to stamp technique to create an ombre effect. Starting with the lightest colour which in this case is Grapefruit Grove, I applied the ink on the stamp with a dauber from the top down. I then moved on to Calypso Coral and applied the same way as before, this time though overlapping with the previous colour to blend together. This overlapping of colours gives creates a new colour and thus help with the ombre effect. Finally, for the bottom tree trunk which I wanted to be the darkest part, I applied Cajun Craze before die cutting with the co ordinating die from Nature's Root set
