Top 10 Winners Blog Hop

I am so thrilled to take part on this special Top 10 Winners Blog Hop. Thanks to all of you that voted for my Hexagonal Base Pop Up Card at Kylie Bertucci's International Highlights last month! I can now proudly put up this badge on our blog :D

For those new to our blog, my name is Jay and I am a supporting demonstrator for Barry. We named our blog after our 3 in door cats; Minnie, Tommy & Sukie, who loves to 'help' us craft ;) We have been Stampin' Up!® independent demonstrators for 2 years and wish we can do this full time. For now, we hope that we inspire people with our projects.

So onto my project...Yep, it's another Hexagonal Base Pop Up Card with a twist.

 It automatically pops up in place using a rubber band mechanism! I originally wanted the first version to do this but couldn't get it to work. After revisiting the card again recently I managed to work it out, just in time for this blog hop.

As a thank you again for voting, I made a video tutorial for you. In my haste though, I forgot to put in the rubber band BEFORE constructing the card. So if you want to recreate this project, don't do what I did, as it was very fiddly in the end.

Hi Everyone

We are playing along in the Global Design Project challenge #GDP076 and this week is Case The Designer...Kylie Bertucci!

We both wanted to play along in this challenge as Kylie's card inspired us both.

Here is Barry's entry for the challenge:

I used the same stamp set, Special Reason with the 2015-2017 In Colours and created 2 panels. The sentiment is nicely framed in the Stitched Shapes Framelits on top of the Layering Ovals die cut.

I also decorated the inside of the card by stamping the flower in Mint Macaron

Embellished with Basic Jewels, Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon and Linen Thread

I used the Flower Shop and the Petite Petals stamp sets with their coordinating punches Pansy Punch & Petite Petals Punch.

The Flourish Thinlits die cut is coloured using Tempting Turquoise, Sweet Sugarplum & Flirty Flamingo using the Clear Wink of Stella.

Hot drinks will be available and materials provided to share but please bring a basic craft kit including your favourite adhesives, scissors, bone folder and 3D foam pads.

You will be using Beautiful You Clear Mount Stamp Set - 143637 amongst other Stampin' Up! products for your projects.

There are 13 stamps in this set from the Spring/Summer Catalogue. You can achieve quick cards by stamping the brush strokes or using Aqua Painters for quick washes. You can also use the Paper Piecing technique for the dresses using Designer Series Paper or spend a bit more time colouring with the Watercolour Pencils and Blender Pens.
