Creating Kindness Blog Hop ~ Because We Care

Welcome to the Creating Kindness Design Team blog hop and thank you for stopping by here at Mitosu Crafts with me Jay Soriano

Creating Kindness Blog Hop using Stampin' Up! Products
#ckdt #creatingkindnessbloghop #stampinup

The design team and our Special Guest Designer, Stesha Bloodhart of Stampin' Hoot have created projects to inspire you and to give back to charities or the community

For my contribution, I have chosen to create 3 Box Sets containing 4 assorted Christmas cards. I will be donating these box sets to Christ Church in Chineham, Basingstoke where Barry & I hold our Cardmaking & Papercraft class every month

We normally sell our handmade cards at the Reception with half the proceeds going to the Church but for these box sets they can either sell them or give them away. The staff have been very welcoming and does a lot for the community so we both wanted to give a little something this Christmas

I used one 12"x12" Designer Series Paper to decorate all the cards and C6 Acetate boxes with various Stampin' Up! products which is normally called a One Sheet Wonder

I cut the Merry Music Specialty Designer Series Paper into four 6"x6" square then cut the following panels (clockwise from top left):

Square 1: Cut in 2" strips, turn 90˚ and cut at 3" which creates six 3"x2" panels
Square 2: Cut at 1 1/2" then at 4 1/8", turn the largest piece 90˚ and cut in 2" strips which creates one 1 1/2" x 6" and three 2"x4 1/8" panels with a small off cut
Square 3: Cut in 1 1/2" strips to get four 1 1/2"x6" panels
Square 4: Cut at 1 1/2", turn largest piece 90˚ and cut in 2" strips to create one 1 1/2"x6" and three 2"x4 1/2" panels

All panels were 'aged' using Sahara Sand and Soft Suede Ink Pads with the Sponge Brayers and Stamping Sponges. I have also used Year of Cheer Specialty Washi Tape on all cards which you can have a closer look at below

Cardbase embossed using Quilt Top TIEF with a sentiment from Carols of Christmas (cut in Stitched Framelit die) and Night of Navy Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon

Cardbase embossed using Softly Falling with a sentiment from Hearts Come Home, decorated with the co-ordinating Hometown Greetings Edgelits Die and Tranquil Tide Finely Woven Ribbon

Cardbase embossed using Holly TIEF, sentiment on Stitched Framelit from the Merry Patterns Hostess set and Tranquil Tide Finely Woven Ribbon

Cardbase embossed using Winter Wonder TIEF with sentiment from Merry Little Labels & Everyday Label Punch and decorated with Pear Pizzazz Shimmer Ribbon

Check out the video tutorial below on how I decorated the C6 Acetate Card Boxes

  7. Such a great idea to use a One Sheet Wonder for your cards Jay! I love that you sponged the DSP. It gave your cards such a vintage, cool look. I had decided that the Let It Snow card was my favorite till I scrolled a smidge further and saw that acetate box...to die for! Thanks for sharing Jay. Your creations are fantastic as always!
