So onto my card which I created for my niece, Zara, who turned eight last week using the mermaid image from the new Magical Day stamp set amongst other current Stampin' Up! products. The layout took a while to compose as I wanted Zara's name, age, an image topper and sentiment at the front. In the end I actually added more elements to get the balance right on the card
I used the Soft Sky stripe design from Foil Frenzy Specialty Designer Series Paper for the background
I stamped the mermaid on Whisper White with Tuxedo Black then coloured with the Stampin' Blends. Die cut using the Circle Stitched Framelit then sponged Tempting Turquoise around the edges
The '8' from Number of Years was stamped in Peekaboo Peach then cut with the coordinating die from Large Numbers Framelits before adhering on Circle Stitched Vellum
I stamped the flourish from Awesomely Artistic with Old Olive ink on Whisper White, coloured with Stampin' Blends then sponged with Peekaboo Peach and Tempting Turquoise
The sentiment from Number of Years and name from Brushwork Alphabet were stamped using Calypso Coral ink on Whisper White then snipped down to size
To finish the card I used Silver Mini Sequin and dotted Basic Pearl Jewel coloured with Stampin' Blends

The Magical Day set consist of 12 stamps, with 5 fantasy images and 2 large sentiments from the Myths & Magic Suite on 36-37 of the 2018 Spring/Summer Catalogue. It can be ordered as a CLEAR
or WOOD Mount bundle with the coordinating Magical Mates Framelits Dies from January 3rd. This is a great set to have for kids' card or young at heart adults
If I have to choose a favourite image from the set, it'll have to be the unicorn! What magical creature would you love to have on your birthday party?
