Create Quick and Easy Cards with the Floral Statements #stampinup

Hi Everyone

Thank you for stopping by today. We are sharing a few recent projects using the Floral Statements Stamp Set we received last week.

This set is great for quick and easy cards due to the intertwined flowers within the large sentiments. The images are easy to colour as there are cross hatching marks where you can add the shadows. Jay used the Watercolour Pencils with the Aqua Painters for the card below.
Colours used: Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive & Early Espresso

Use the Basic Black Archival Stampin' Pad when using the Aqua Painters to colour your projects.

The 3 cards below were coloured and mounted on black card to show how they are ideal as postcards too. From left to right, colours used were:
Powder Pink, Flirty Flamingo & Tranquil Tide
Pacific Point & Old Olive
Daffodil Delight, Tangerine Tango, Old Olive & Early Espresso

You can create a softer look by using your inkpads to colour the flowers ~ press the lid and back of the ink pad gently to transfer the ink onto the lid tray then apply to your project using the Aqua Painters. This was used for the card on the left above.

If you prefer a more intense contrast with bolder colours like the middle and right cards above, use the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad and just Watercolour Pencils. Start off with a lighter pressure as you can always add more later. Use the cross hatching within the images to help guide you where to add more pressure for intense colours or shadows.

For an even quicker card, just add Clear Wink of Stella on the flowers, adding shimmer and contrast to the Very Vanilla card base and finish off with the Linen Thread. The photo doesn't show the contrast as much but we both really like this card. Don't forget, you can also add a hint of colour with your Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush if you want another look :)

CAS Colours & Sketches #187

Hi All

Sorry it's a bit late but here's my design for CAS Colours & Sketches #187

Thanks to a recent play date with fellow Royal Stampers (Sara, Hilary, Leonore and of course my partner in craft, Barry) I used the Jar of Love set for this card. It started off as a 1 layer card but I ended up cutting the different pieces as I wasn't too happy with the composition of the original.

Having only 3 colours to play with, I used 2nd Generation technique to achieve lighter shades. I also used Wink of Stella on the flowers and the distressed burlap which unfortunately isn't very clear on the photos.

My favourite part is the Chocolate Chip coloured and glittered string which mimics the stamp. It's so quick and easy to do but perhaps will need to heat set with an iron next time as it leaves a light residue on the Whisper White card.

Check out the rest of the design team's work and join.

Thanks for stopping by

Jay

Stampin' with Picture Perfect Bird

Hi All

Just wanted to share this card I created using the sketch from CC&S#182 with the bird stamp from Picture Perfect set.

The Picture Perfect stamp set consists of 4 images that uses the 2 Step Stamping technique which creates the photo realistic result. I used the Stamp-a-ma-jig to ensure each layer aligns perfectly.

Stamped on Very Vanilla card, fussy cut and mounted on Mint Macaron using the Layering Circles die. The colours used for the bird are, Tempting Turquoise, Island Indigo and Crumb Cake. I then used Real Red & Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Markers and a white pigment pen to add more colour to the body and eyes before coating most of the image with Gold Wink of Stella.

I used one of the leaf die from Botanical Builder, coloured with Garden Green, Old Olive, Real Red, Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Markers and Wink of Stella before folding over and sticking wire on the middle for extra support. The small flower die is also from the Botanical Builder set, coloured with Tempting Turquoise and Pumpkin Pie.

I am entering this card to the following challenges:
Glitter 'n' Sparkle #197 - Anything Goes
Craft Your Passion #321 - Anything Goes

Hope you like the card and thank you for stopping by

Mother's Day Card & Gift

Hi

Thanks for stopping by our blog. Today I would like to share the Card & Gift I made for Mothers day.

It's a little bit different to my normal style but I have recently found some new products and just had to play. I also wanted to incorporate Stampin' Up! products to show the versatility they have on any project you might be doing.

Firstly I wanted to play with crackle glaze, I know this is not a new product to many of you but it's the first time I've really played with it and been happy with the results. I've also found a new love for Gilding Wax. I've wasted money in the past buying cheaper products and not been happy with the results. So if you can pay a little bit more to get a quality product I'm sure you will be happy with the results.

Below is the card I made using crackle glaze and filling the cracks with gilding wax. I've also used the Flower Shop, Petite Petals and Itty Bitty stamps and punches from Stampin' Up! The flowers have all been coloured with Blackberry Bliss ink and the Aqua Painters to pull the ink out and give it some shading. To finish them off I've used the Clear Wink of Stella pens to give it the sparkle and Pearl Basic Jewels. The edges have been distressed to finish off the look.
I was really happy with the final result.

A handmade card wasn't the end of it. Whilst at the Make it Craft show in Farnborough last week, we had a play with Powertex and I needed to play with our goodies. So I decided to decorate a glass jar with this amazing stuff and once again used Stampin' Up products. I won't go into details about Powetex as it will take me to long to write. But if interested click the link Powertex to unleash a whole new world of crafting.

The Stampin' Up! products used to compliment this gift are the Itty Bitty Punch and Flower Fair Framlits Dies. I have only used the petals from these dies but it's got loads of other uses. It also comes in the Flower Patch Bundle. The sentiment has come from the Crazy About You stamp set which is another great versatile stamp set to have in your stash.

.

I had so much fun making these projects and I hope you've enjoyed looking at them. If you would like to purchase any of the Stampin' Up! products used please click on the highlighted products and it will take you directly to our Online Shop.

Please feel free to leave a comment below.

Thank you again for stopping by and for reading our blog. We hope we have inspired you to make something amazing and unique.

Thanks again

Barry
